The CAGS Practice Exam is a multiple-choice examination with questions linked to the Royal College goals and objectives of training in General Surgery. The questions are clinically-based and designed to assess knowledge specific to Surgical Foundations (Years 1 and 2) and Core training (Years 3 and 4). The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
CAGS is offering International Medical Graduates (IMGs) the opportunity to write the CAGS Practice Exam at this year’s Canadian Surgery Forum. The exam will take place Wednesday, September 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Those writing the exam must bring their own laptop and power source.
Cost: $2,000 CAD

- Access to write the CAGS practice exam
- Results report sent by email 2-3 weeks after the exam

Eligibility: In order to be eligible to write the CAGS Practice Exam, you must submit a copy of your challenge letter from the Royal College that indicates the date you will be writing the RCPSC Exam to [email protected].
Schedule:
- 8:45 am to 8:55 am: Examinee check in and station set up
- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm: Exam
- 12:00 pm to 12:15 pm: Pack up
