2026 CSSO Annual Spring Scientific Meeting
The CSSO Annual Spring Scientific Meeting is the annual conference of the Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology, bringing together surgeons and researchers to present and discuss the latest advancements, research, and innovations in surgical cancer treatment, featuring expert speakers, abstract presentations, and training program updates.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Association of General Surgeons.

Day 1 CaGCA stream: Focus on gastric and gastroesophageal junction cancers, featuring international keynote speaker Paulo Kassab and sessions on immunotherapy, targeted therapies, treatment resistance, and genomics.
Day 2 CSSO stream: The Temple Lecture will be delivered by Tari A. King, with additional talks from Mark B. Faries and Simon Turcotte, plus a colorectal tumor board and research abstract presentations from across Canada.

By the end of this event, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the breadth of academic inquiry being undertaken by surgical trainees and faculty involved in cancer care.
- Describe the impact and role that immunotherapy has played in cancer over the years.
- Describe how determining the sequence of treatments can affect cancer outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration between Surgical Oncologists locally, nationally and internationally.
